Five steps to a great shave

June 28, 2018

For a close, comfortable shave, just follow a few essential steps.

Step 1: Wash
Warm soap and water will remove oils from your hair and skin, and will start the whisker softening process (better yet, shave after a shower, when your hair’s fully saturated).

Step 2: Soften
Facial hair is some of the toughest hair on your body. To enhance softening and reduce friction, apply a thick layer of shaving cream or gel and allow it to sit on your skin for about three minutes.

Step 3: Shave
Use a clean, sharp blade. Shave in the direction of hair growth to help reduce irritation.

Step 4: Rinse
Immediately rinse with cold water to remove any traces of soap or lather.

Step 5: Aftershave
Compete your regimen with an aftershave product. Try your favorite cream or gel.
